Today is the 162th anniversary of the Seneca Falls Convention, the first convention in the United States dedicated to women’s rights. On July 19, more than 300 women and men joined together in Seneca Falls, NY in protest of the political, economic and social discrimination faced by women. The attendees of the convention, championed by Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott, signed a Declaration of Sentiments which listed several resolutions for women’s equality, including the right to vote.
